Lowe’s Brings Home Improvement Network Porch.com to Every Store in the Nation – Yahoo Finance
If aLowes customer needs, for example, a handyman, painter, plumber or landscaper, employees can access the Porch database on their mobile devices and in-store terminals to identify local providers. Porchs database has more than 1.5 million professionals and more than 100 million projects. The nationwide rollout is a “massive accomplishment” for a company that started up 10 months ago with 12 employeesin the basement of CEO Matt Ehrlichman ‘s rental home. Lowes began testing Porch in January at 139 stores in the Seattle area and the Carolinas. Ehrlichman said he “had a pretty good sense right away that it was going well.” The next four months were spent “gathering data and learning how homeowners use Porch” and training around 250,000 Lowe’s employees in how to use the database.
