Those Americans haven’t shown signs of Ebola but are being isolated just in case, with the spokeswoman saying they can’t return home until they get medical clearance to do so. One American, 40-year-old Patrick Sawyer, died in a Nigerian hospital earlier this month — having come from Liberia, where he was a top Ministry of Finance official, and before he could go back home to Minnesota to celebrate his daughters’ birthdays. Florence County home to fewest substandard bridges in state – SCNow: News

Bridges are just part of South Carolinas problem that the Legislature failed to take any action on this year, despite infrastructure being named a priority for economic development. The state would need $1.9 billion to bring all substandard bridges to federal standards. Democratic gubernatorial candidate state Sen. Vincent Sheheen announced his plan in late July to borrow $1 billion to start road projects, taking 5 percent of the state general fund for roads, possibly putting tolls on I-95 and reorganizing the SCDOT.
